  • Proportion with how the skull is the the rest of the skeleton 
  • Unity within the color choices, they are very monotone within the yellow/tan area
  • Space is around the subject and seen through it in some areas as well
  • Color withing the skeleton and how its a very monotone yellow/tan 
  • Texture within the art with the paint strokes

  • Repetition within the waves and how they are crashing
  • Variety within the properties of the art within the background to the hair to the face to the top line
  • Unity within the color scheme, the blue/greens together with the hint of an orange in some areas
  • Texture within the waves and hair, so wavy and flowing
  • Color has a lot of complementary of blue and orange

It has an audience, a specific media, a specific context (different things have different meaning in different places)
Design can be applied art on non-applied.


objective: when you try to do something realistic and identifiable
non-objective: pure shape and form and no relation to real things
organic and geometric lines. organic being wooshy geometric being blocky and stiff
implied line is hinted upon.
